Forecast for the location of the Agulhas Current

The forecast is obtained by running the LACCE algorithm (Russo et al., submitted) on the Operational Mercator global ocean analysis and forecast product which is obtained from the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring System (CMEMS) website (https://marine.copernicus.eu/). LACCE defines the core as the location of the local maximum speed and the edges are defined as the location of the local maximum gradient in speed around the core.
